Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Male and female patients between the ages of 50 and 80
  • Planned for elective Carotid Endarterectomy under general anesthesia
  • Must be breathing spontaneously, conscious, and cooperative
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Under 50 years of age
  • Over 80 years of age
  • Have neurological symptoms caused by reasons other than carotid artery disease
  • Are intubated
