Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Teens must identify as Latina
  • Teens must be between 14 and 18 years old
  • Teens must speak English and/or Spanish
  • Teens must have a female caregiver available for workshops and research activities
  • Teens must live with or be in daily contact with their female caregiver
  • Female caregivers must be the mother or a female relative (e.g., aunt, sister, grandmother) of a Latina teen aged 14-18
  • Female caregivers must be 19 years old or older
  • Female caregivers must speak English and/or Spanish
  • Female caregivers must have a Latina teen available for workshops and research activities
  • Female caregivers must live with or be in daily contact with the Latina teen
  • Teens and caregivers must agree to participate as a pair, with teens' refusal overriding parental consent

You will not qualify if you...

  • Teens or caregivers unable to understand or provide informed consent/assent
  • Teens or caregivers who have already received this intervention in an earlier research phase
  • Prisoners are excluded from participation
