Study to Evaluate Oura Blood Pressure Profile Algorithm for Detecting Signs of High Blood Pressure in Adults Using Oura Ring

Researchers are conducting a prospective, single-arm, observational study to evaluate how well the Oura Blood Pressure Profile algorithm can detect signs of hypertension, also known as high blood pressure. This study focuses on users of the Oura Ring device and aims to assess the algorithms performance in identifying participant-reported hypertension over time. The sponsor for this study is Ouraring Inc. Participants in this study will use the Oura Ring Gen3 or newer and the English version of the Oura App on a smartphone iOS or Android. The study does not involve any intervention or treatment, but rather observes and collects data using the devices algorithm. The study duration extends from enrollment up to 18 months to monitor the algorithms sensitivity and specificity in identifying hypertension. During the study, participants will provide electronic consent and continue using their Oura Ring and app as usual. Researchers will assess the algorithms accuracy in detecting signs of hypertension by comparing it to participant-reported hypertension status. The main measure is sensitivity, with specificity as a secondary measure, both tracked from enrollment up to 18 months. Participants usual care will continue without changes during the study period.
