Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Post-pubertal individuals under 30 years of age
- Scheduled for surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation likely to affect future fertility or hormone function
- Treatments may include removal of ovaries, whole abdomen or pelvic irradiation ≥ 10Gy (post-pubertal) or ≥15 Gy (pre-pubertal)
- Total body irradiation
- Alkylating-intensive chemotherapy including cyclophosphamide, procarbazine, busulfan, or conditioning before stem cell transplant
- Patients may have newly diagnosed or relapsed disease
- Patients not enrolled at diagnosis but who received likely ovary-damaging therapy must provide a 4mm biopsy for research
You will not qualify if you...
- No planned oncologic therapies
- Pregnant children
- Children with only one ovary
- Children at high risk for surgery complications
- Patients unable to give consent or assent due to psychiatric or cognitive issues
