Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Female sex
- Age between 18 and 50 years
- Pregnancy history within 5 years of the study visit
- Diagnosed with gestational diabetes by an obstetrician and confirmed by American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists criteria
- Or without a history of gestational diabetes
You will not qualify if you...
- Skin diseases
- Current use of tobacco or e-cigarettes
- Diagnosed or suspected liver or metabolic diseases including diabetes
- Use of statin or other cholesterol-lowering medications
- Current use of antihypertensive medications
- History of preeclampsia or gestational hypertension
- Current pregnancy
- Body mass index less than 18.5 kg/m2
- Allergy to materials used during the experiment (e.g., latex) or known allergies to study drugs
