Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Female sex
  • Age between 18 and 50 years
  • Pregnancy history within 5 years of the study visit
  • Diagnosed with gestational diabetes by an obstetrician and confirmed by American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists criteria
  • Or without a history of gestational diabetes
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Skin diseases
  • Current use of tobacco or e-cigarettes
  • Diagnosed or suspected liver or metabolic diseases including diabetes
  • Use of statin or other cholesterol-lowering medications
  • Current use of antihypertensive medications
  • History of preeclampsia or gestational hypertension
  • Current pregnancy
  • Body mass index less than 18.5 kg/m2
  • Allergy to materials used during the experiment (e.g., latex) or known allergies to study drugs
