This study aims to initially utilize machine learning on pan-cancer DNA methylation data from public databases to construct a DNA methylation classification model (PaCIFiC-CUP, pan-cancer integrated fingerprinting classifier of CUP) for diagnosing various types of cancer, particularly the primary site of cancer of unknown primary. The goal is to achieve diagnosis of cancer pathology type by analyzing the DNA methylation patterns of cancer specimens, thereby guiding subsequent precision treatment for cancer.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patient specimens obtained from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center or cooperating centers with written consent for research use
- Diagnosis of primary site unknown tumor confirmed after standard medical, imaging, pathology, and immunohistochemistry assessments
- Patient has received systemic therapy for cancer
- Complete clinical, pathological, and follow-up data available
- ECOG performance status score between 0 and 2
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnant or lactating female patients
- Tumor tissue sample size too small (less than 70% tumor content in biopsy or slice)
- History of organ transplant or non-autologous bone marrow/stem cell transplantation
- Previous tumors with current condition being a recurrent tumor
- Hematological malignancies excluding lymphoma
- Severe diseases impacting survival such as severe cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, sepsis, severe trauma or burns
