Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients supported on invasive mechanical ventilation for moderate to severe acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (PaO2/FiO2 < 150 mm Hg or FiO2 ≥ 60% with an SpO2 ≤ 97%) or receiving venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
You will not qualify if you...
- Allergy or contraindication to neuromuscular blockade, including history of malignant hyperthermia
- Contraindication to ulnar nerve stimulation such as bilateral peripheral neuropathy or skin burns on both wrists
- Previous diagnosis of a neuromuscular disorder
