Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Impaired liver function such as cirrhosis or chronic liver disease with hypocoagulation (APTT > 35 sec, INR > 1.5)
- Thrombocytopenia
- Patients requiring major abdominal surgery
- Age over 18 years
- Provided written consent to participate in the study
You will not qualify if you...
- Platelet count below 50x10⁹
- Failed unilateral or bilateral ESP catheterization
- Failed epidural anesthesia attempt
- History of allergy or hypersensitivity to local anesthetics
- Hepatopulmonary syndrome
- Patients on mechanical ventilation before surgery
- Patients on continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) before surgery
- Refusal to participate in the study
