Researchers are conducting a descriptive study called the PHAGEinLYON Clinic cohort study to observe patients with severe infections treated with bacteriophage therapy at the Hospices Civils de Lyon. The study includes both retrospective and prospective data collection from 2015 to 2033 and aims to describe the types of severe infections treated with phage therapy. This observational study plans to include 250 patients to better understand the use of bacteriophage in treating serious infections. The study involves patients who have already been treated or will be treated with bacteriophage therapy at this single site over an 18-year period. There are no active treatments or interventions assigned by the study; instead, it collects information from patients who received phage therapy during this timeframe. The study is non-interventional and focuses on gathering descriptive data about these infections and treatments. Participants will be observed through review of their medical information related to severe infections treated with phage therapy. The primary outcome measured is the rate of each type of severe infection among the patients up to five years from the study's start. The study is planned to run until early 2034, allowing long-term follow-up. Participants receive information about the study, and data collection occurs without additional procedures or treatments beyond their routine care.
