Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults > 18 years old
- Prescribed meropenem, ertapenem, cefepime, colistin, ceftazidime/avibactam, ceftolozane/tazobactam, or piperacillin/tazobactam as part of standard care
- Receiving these antibiotics while on renal replacement therapy (IHD or CRRT) or starting RRT while on these antibiotics
- Hemoglobin > 70 g/L without blood transfusion in the past 24 hours
- Provided informed consent by patient, next of kin, or legally authorized representative
You will not qualify if you...
- Younger than 18 years
- Pregnant females
- Body mass index less than 18 or greater than 35 kg/m2
- Anemia (hemoglobin < 70 g/L), thrombocytopenia, or leukopenia below 75% of normal limits
- Receiving another cephalosporin that interferes with assay
- Expected to need surgery during study that affects dosing or sampling
- Protected patients such as prisoners, patients with HIV, physical or mental disabilities, or psychiatric patients
- Life-threatening allergy to study drugs or their class
- Conditions affecting drug processing like severe burns, ascites, spinal cord injury, or cystic fibrosis
- Any other investigator-determined reason that may affect study outcomes
