Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Intubated patients
  • Undergoing mechanical ventilation
  • Moderate to severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
  • Undergoing prone positioning
  • Age 18 years or older
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Pregnant
  • Presence of cardiac structural shunt
  • Receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
  • Undergoing extracorporeal CO2 removal
  • Diagnosed with pulmonary embolism
  • Conditions affecting accuracy of PetCO2 monitoring
  • Prone positioning session lasting less than 10 hours
