Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Cannabis use within the past 2 years with experience of feeling high
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English
- Willingness and ability to provide written informed consent and follow the study protocol
You will not qualify if you...
- Current marijuana tolerance, desire to cut down, or cravings during abstinence
- Positive drug or alcohol screen (except cannabis) on test day
- History of adverse effects from cannabis
- Abstaining from cannabis use
- IQ below 80 on the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence
- Inability to understand written instructions on the WRAT 4 reading test
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or ineffective birth control
- Unable or unsafe to undergo MRI
- Serious medical, neuro-ophthalmological, or neurological illnesses (e.g., cancer, seizure disorders, encephalopathy)
- History of head trauma with loss of consciousness over 30 minutes or concussion lasting 30 days
- Focal brain lesion seen on structural MRI
- Any medical or neurological condition that may affect cognitive performance (e.g., epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, fetal alcohol syndrome)
- Deemed unsafe to study staff for any reason
- Hearing loss impairing ability to hear study sounds
- Significant pain or reduced arm mobility
