Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- Habitual sleep less than 7 hours during the day
- Willing to download and use the SHIFT app and follow lighting recommendations
- Able to maintain a 7-hour sleep schedule after night shifts
- Working at least 4 night shifts per month
- Night shifts start between 18:00 and 02:00 and last 8 to 12 hours
- Score of 8 or above on the Epworth Sleepiness Scale and/or Insomnia Severity Index
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of other independent sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea or narcolepsy
- History of seizures or significant neurological disorders
- Diagnosis of bipolar disorder
- No longer working night shift schedules
- Pregnancy
- Current use of medications affecting sleep-wake function
- Alcohol or substance use disorder
