Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Habitual sleep duration less than 7 hours during the day
- Willingness to download the SHIFT app and follow lighting recommendations
- Ability to follow a 7-hour sleep schedule after night shifts
- Working at least 4 night shifts per month
- Night shifts starting between 18:00 and 02:00 lasting 8 to 12 hours
- Score of 8 or above on Epworth Sleepiness Scale and/or Insomnia Severity Index
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of other independent sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea or narcolepsy
- History of seizures or significant neurological disorders
- Diagnosis of bipolar disorder
- Termination of current shift work schedule
- Pregnancy
- Use of medications that affect sleep-wake function
- Alcohol or substance use disorder
