Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Callers must be 18 years or older.
  • Callers must speak Dutch.
  • Callers must contact Zelfmoordlijn 1813 for themselves due to suicidal thoughts.
  • Callers must benefit from one of the three callback profiles.
  • Callers must not be frequent callers to Zelfmoordlijn 1813.
  • Callers must be reachable on a personal device for callbacks.
  • Callers must be legally competent to understand participation consequences.
  • Callers must not be currently receiving care focused on suicidality or have unavailable care providers if needing safety conversation callbacks.
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Callers under 18 years old.
  • Callers who do not speak Dutch.
  • Callers who do not call for themselves.
  • Frequent callers to Zelfmoordlijn 1813.
  • Callers needing urgent medical help as assessed by call responders.
  • Callers expressing homicidal threats during the original call.
  • Callers who cannot be reached on a personal device (e.g., in detention).
  • Callers not legally competent (e.g., under influence of substances).
  • Callers currently receiving care focused on suicidality.
