Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults aged 18 years and older
- Males and females in equal proportions (50:50)
- Diagnosed with PKU through newborn screening or later diagnosis
- Able to provide informed consent
- Have had prior mutation genetic testing
You will not qualify if you...
- Current illness or acute illness in the past 6 months affecting protein metabolism
- Recent weight loss in the past 6 months
- Pregnancy
- Lack of regular menstruation
- Presence of implantable electronic devices or pacemakers
- History of claustrophobia
- Unable to provide informed consent
- Genotype subgroup enrollment has reached maximum (n=4)
