Researchers are studying pneumoconiosis, a lung disease caused by dust exposure, in China. The study aims to describe the characteristics of patients with pneumoconiosis, understand how the disease progresses naturally, evaluate patient prognosis, and assess related complications and other health conditions. This observational study involves different groups, including patients diagnosed with pneumoconiosis, individuals exposed to dust, and healthy control subjects. Participants are grouped based on their health and exposure status: those with pneumoconiosis, those exposed to dust but without the disease, and healthy individuals without dust exposure. No specific treatments or interventions are given, as this study observes and collects information over time. The study plans to monitor participants over several years to gather data on lung function and disease progression. During the study, participants will undergo pulmonary function tests over a period of three years to evaluate lung health. Researchers will also track the number of patients over six years to understand disease trends and outcomes. No experimental treatments are administered, and the study includes healthy volunteers for comparison. Participants will provide detailed occupational histories and undergo regular assessments to support the research objectives.
