Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Pregnancy
- Requesting an epidural for the first time
You will not qualify if you...
- Previous epidural for labor or surgery
- Body mass index (BMI) greater than 40 kg/m^2
- Previous lumbar spine surgery
- Unable to speak English
- History of chronic pain or use of chronic opioids
- History of opioid drug abuse
