Studying NECPAL Scale Use in ICU Patients Aged 75 or Older to Predict Risk of Death Within 90 Days

Researchers are evaluating the usefulness of the NECPAL scale in identifying patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit ICU who are at higher risk of dying within 90 days after ICU admission. This observational study focuses on adults aged 75 years and older admitted to the ICU, aiming to assess mortality risk using this specific tool. Participants are grouped based on whether they have a positive result on the NECPAL scale, which is being observed to see if it is associated with higher mortality. The study does not involve treatment interventions but focuses on monitoring and evaluating outcomes related to the NECPAL scale results. During the study, participants vital status will be followed from ICU admission up to 90 days to measure mortality rates. Researchers will collect relevant data to understand how well the NECPAL scale predicts death risk. Participants or their legal representatives provide informed consent, and those who die within 24 hours of ICU admission are excluded from the study.
