Psychoeducation Using Positive Psychotherapy Balance Model for Caregivers of Colorectal Cancer Patients to Improve Life Balance, Well-Being, and Self-Efficacy

This research aims to evaluate the effect of a psychoeducation intervention based on the positive psychotherapy balance model on caregivers of individuals with colorectal cancer. The study focuses on improving balanced life, psychological well-being, and self-efficacy among these caregivers. It is conducted as a randomized controlled experimental trial with pretest, posttest, and follow-up assessments. The study also considers participants socio-demographic and caregiving characteristics as control variables. Caregivers will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group or a control group. The intervention group will receive face-to-face psychoeducation sessions based on the positive psychotherapy balance model over 5 weeks, with one 90-120 minute session each week. The control group will have a single 60-minute information session after 3 weeks. After completing the sessions, both groups will undergo post-testing, and follow-up data will be collected 3 months later. After the study ends, the control group will also receive the psychoeducation program. Participants will complete several assessments including the Balanced Life Scale, Psychological Well-Being Scale, and General Self-Efficacy Scale at baseline, after the sessions, and at follow-up. Researchers will collect data on caregivers balanced life levels, psychological well-being, and self-efficacy. The study will monitor attendance and completion of all sessions and tests. The total participation lasts over approximately 5 weeks plus a 3-month follow-up period, with ethical approvals and informed consent obtained prior to participation.
