Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients between 18 and 75 years of age
- Indicated for tooth extraction due to destructive caries that cannot be treated conservatively or prosthetically
- Untreatable endodontic and/or periapical lesions
- Advanced periodontal lesions with significant loss of supporting tissue
- Traumatic root fractures (vertical or at the middle third)
- Malpositioned teeth causing functional problems
- Roots that cannot be recovered prosthetically or residual roots
You will not qualify if you...
- Patients younger than 18 or older than 75 years
- Presence of immunodepression or immunocompromisation (e.g., HIV infection)
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Presence of psychiatric disorders
- Severe smokers consuming more than 10 cigarettes per day
- History of alcohol or drug abuse
