Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Patients between 18 and 75 years of age
  • Indicated for tooth extraction due to destructive caries that cannot be treated conservatively or prosthetically
  • Untreatable endodontic and/or periapical lesions
  • Advanced periodontal lesions with significant loss of supporting tissue
  • Traumatic root fractures (vertical or at the middle third)
  • Malpositioned teeth causing functional problems
  • Roots that cannot be recovered prosthetically or residual roots
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Patients younger than 18 or older than 75 years
  • Presence of immunodepression or immunocompromisation (e.g., HIV infection)
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Presence of psychiatric disorders
  • Severe smokers consuming more than 10 cigarettes per day
  • History of alcohol or drug abuse
