Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Patients over 18 years of age.
  • Confirmed diagnosis of epiretinal membrane grade III or IV by optical coherence tomography.
  • Visual disturbances such as metamorphopsia or visual impairment measured on the ETDRS scale.
  • Suitable candidates for vitreoretinal surgery without uncontrolled medical comorbidities.
  • Ability to understand the study and provide informed consent.
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Patients with grade III or IV epiretinal membrane who are not expected to improve visual acuity.
  • Presence of ocular diseases significantly affecting vision, including moderate or advanced glaucoma, non-glaucomatous optic neuropathies.
  • Significant opacities in the eye's optical media such as leukomas or severe corneal edema.
  • Other macular diseases such as macular atrophy or macular ischemia.
