Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Patients older than 18 years of age diagnosed with benign or malignant colorectal diseases
  • Undergoing elective open or video-assisted colectomy or proctectomy
  • Surgery planned at the Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre - Division of Coloproctology
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Age under 18 years
  • Surgery classified as dirty
  • Urgent or emergency surgery
  • Undergoing multi-visceral resections such as pelvic exenteration or partial resection of adjacent organs
  • Known allergy to iodine
