Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of type 2 diabetes for at least 12 months
- Age 18 years or older
- Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) level of 58 mmol/mol or higher
- Currently attending the SDCC outpatient clinic
- Provided voluntary signed informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Unable to understand the patient information
- Medical complications preventing HbA1c from being lowered below 58 mmol/mol
- Treatment with insulin
- Low daily carbohydrate intake (below 25% of energy or 100 grams per day) before study
- Regular use of corticosteroids
- Using or needing a specialized diet (e.g., kidney diet)
- Conditions affecting HbA1c such as liver disease or anemia
- Known or suspected drug or alcohol abuse
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or plans for pregnancy during the study
- Participation in other clinical trials
