Study of Factors Predicting Changes in Autonomy Levels in Patients with Memory Disorders Aged 65 and Older

Alzheimers disease and related disorders cause significant challenges such as memory loss, reduced ability to perform daily activities, and behavioral problems. Without current cures, identifying factors that predict how the disease progresses is important for public health. This study aims to create a database of medical records from about 1000 patients with memory impairment to examine these predictive factors over time. The follow-up period for each patient is planned to last 3 years. Participants will have their level of functional autonomy assessed every 6 to 12 months through phone calls using tools like the Lawton Instrumental Activities of Daily Living score IADL and the Disability Assessment of Dementia score DAD-6. These assessments focus on how well patients manage daily tasks and their level of disability related to dementia. The study is observational with no masking or placebo control. During the study, patients will be monitored regularly for changes in their ability to function and cognitive status. The main outcome measured is the change in functional autonomy over 3 years, with cognitive function also tracked. Data collection relies on medical visits at a Memory Clinic and phone assessments, enabling researchers to study disease progression and related factors. The total participation duration for each patient is 3 years.
