Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 to 40 years
- Natural conception without assisted reproductive techniques
You will not qualify if you...
- Use of hormonal therapy (oral contraceptives, progestogens) within 3 months before or during pregnancy
- Use of oral or subcutaneous anticoagulants within 3 months before or during pregnancy
- Increased risk factors for venous thromboembolism such as obesity (body mass index over 30 kg/m2) or smoking, or history of venous thromboembolism
- Presence of severe hypertension, diabetes mellitus, or autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus or antiphospholipid syndrome
- Congenital or acquired thrombophilia including factor V Leiden mutation or prothrombin mutation
