Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Undergoing surgery for displaced intra-articular calcaneus fracture
- Sanders III or IV displaced intra-articular calcaneus fracture OR Sanders II with either Bohler angle less than 0 degrees, open fracture, pain syndrome, or substance use disorder
- Age 18 years or older
- Able to follow up at the study site for one year
You will not qualify if you...
- Planned surgery using extensile lateral approach
- Sanders II displaced intra-articular calcaneus fracture without Bohler angle less than 0 degrees, open fracture, pain syndrome, or substance use disorder
- Under 18 years of age
- Body mass index (BMI) greater than 40
- Unable to follow up at the study site for one year
- Does not speak English or Spanish
- Prisoner
