This project will investigate the effects of a Narrative and Skills-building Intervention on young stroke survivors' community reintegration and psychosocial outcomes. Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Be between 18 and 64 years old
- Have a clinical diagnosis of first-ever or recurrent ischaemic or haemorrhagic stroke
- Be living at home after discharge from hospital
- Have a Montreal Cognitive Assessment score greater than 20
- Have a modified Rankin Scale score of 3 or higher
- Be able to communicate in Cantonese
- Be able to attend all intervention sessions
You will not qualify if you...
- Have a transient ischaemic attack, subdural or epidural haemorrhage
- Have experienced cerebrovascular events due to tumours or head trauma
- Have a mental condition such as depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or personality disorder
- Have incomprehensible speech or difficulty understanding conversations
- Have previously received a self-management programme
