Prospective External Control Cohort in Patients with Newly Diagnosed Advanced or Metastatic EGFR Mutant Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are building a prospective group of patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer NSCLC who have common EGFR mutations. This observational study aims to collect standardized data at key points before treatment starts, during treatment, and after treatment ends. About 30 of participants who join before starting osimertinib treatment will have imaging done at set intervals to monitor disease progression. Participants may receive osimertinib combined with chemotherapy or other treatment plans started on or after January 1, 2024, or osimertinib alone as their first-line treatment for metastatic NSCLC. The study follows these groups to understand real-world treatment experiences and outcomes. During the study, data will be collected on progression-free survival from the start of treatment until cancer progression or death, with monitoring lasting up to 100 months. The research also tracks overall survival and time until treatment is stopped. Participants will be observed over this period without altering their usual care, and detailed information will be gathered to better understand how these treatments perform outside of clinical trials.
