Who Can Participate

Age: 6Months - 25Years
All Genders

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Participants are followed in a participating institution's intestinal rehabilitation program
  • Diagnosis of intestinal failure due to functional or structural intestinal dysfunction
  • History of specialized nutritional support with parenteral nutrition for at least 60 out of 74 consecutive days
  • Age between 6 months and 25 years old
  • Parents or caregivers able to complete questionnaires without assistance
  • English or Spanish speaking
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Participants younger than 6 months or older than 25 years
  • Enrollment less than 3 months from index admission or initial outpatient evaluation
  • Enrollment less than 1 month from any inpatient admission longer than 24 hours
  • Enrollment less than 1 month from any surgery requiring general anesthesia
  • Primary language other than English or Spanish
  • Participants with currently functional small bowel, liver/small bowel, or multivisceral transplant
  • Participants with major co-morbidities that may affect paired analysis, such as global developmental delay
