Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Participants are followed in a participating institution's intestinal rehabilitation program
- Diagnosis of intestinal failure due to functional or structural intestinal dysfunction
- History of specialized nutritional support with parenteral nutrition for at least 60 out of 74 consecutive days
- Age between 6 months and 25 years old
- Parents or caregivers able to complete questionnaires without assistance
- English or Spanish speaking
You will not qualify if you...
- Participants younger than 6 months or older than 25 years
- Enrollment less than 3 months from index admission or initial outpatient evaluation
- Enrollment less than 1 month from any inpatient admission longer than 24 hours
- Enrollment less than 1 month from any surgery requiring general anesthesia
- Primary language other than English or Spanish
- Participants with currently functional small bowel, liver/small bowel, or multivisceral transplant
- Participants with major co-morbidities that may affect paired analysis, such as global developmental delay
