What this Trial Is About

Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a complex inflammatory disease affecting about 30% of psoriasis patients. It involves various tissues and areas such as skin, nails, joints, spine, entheses, and fingers or toes. Researchers are conducting a prospective, observational, open-label study to examine disease activity, treatment response, and bone damage in PsA patients using Power Doppler ultrasonography (PDUS), a sensitive and non-invasive imaging technique. The study focuses on assessing PsA with PDUS to monitor disease features and treatment effects. There are no specific interventions or drugs assigned in this observational study. Instead, the study tracks disease characteristics and changes over time using imaging technology. Participants will undergo assessments including the Madrid Sonographic Enthesitis Index (MASEI) and DACTylitis glObal Sonographic (DACTOS) evaluations at 12 weeks. The study requires patients to attend visits, follow treatment plans, and complete laboratory tests and other procedures. Researchers will use these measures to understand disease activity and monitor bone destruction and treatment response in PsA.
