Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 20-89 years
- Female participants prescribed exercise as a standard of care
- Biopsy-proven diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) or invasive breast cancer
- Completed treatment for breast cancer including surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or hormonal therapy
- Not currently undergoing chemotherapy; immunotherapy or targeted agent use allowed
- More than 6 months of resistance training experience under expert guidance by a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
You will not qualify if you...
- Currently receiving cytotoxic chemotherapy for breast cancer
- Unable to safely participate in group resistance training sessions as determined by the study doctor
- Severe arthritis, joint, cardiovascular, or musculoskeletal conditions that make resistance training unsafe
- Use of beta blocker or GLP-1 inhibitor medications
- Pregnancy
- Male gender
