Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Male aged 18 - 65 years
- Had primary Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery between 1 and 10 years ago
- Body weight stable within 5% over the last 3 months
- Normal blood pressure or blood pressure controlled with medication
- Provided informed consent to participate
You will not qualify if you...
- Current cancer diagnosis or active cancer within the past year
- Any chronic or acute illness affecting amino acid absorption, metabolism, or requirements
- Less than 40% excess weight loss after bariatric surgery
- Weight regain greater than 20% of lowest weight after surgery
- Diabetes defined by fasting glucose 67; 7.0 mmol or HbA1c less than 6.5%, or receiving diabetes treatment
