This research aims to understand the effects of participating in a peer mentor program within a Southwestern Tribal Community. It focuses on how to design youth-centered behavioral health programs that respect the cultural uniqueness of American Indian/Alaska Native communities. The study also explores how interactive technical tools can support ongoing community involvement, especially in areas with limited network access. Participants in this study will be trained to become peer mentors. They will learn how to use the QI App to communicate with and support their mentees. Each mentor will guide daily conversations with a small group of three mentees through the app and encourage them to engage in mindfulness activities every day using the app. Throughout the study, researchers will assess how acceptable the Peer Mentorship Program is by collecting feedback at the start, six weeks after beginning as a mentor, and again at twelve weeks. Participants will be involved in regular use of the app for communication and mindfulness exercises, with their engagement closely monitored. The total study duration for each participant is twelve weeks.
