What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying the blood flow in the arteries of the hand in both healthy individuals and patients with certain medical conditions, such as those who have had a radial forearm flap reconstruction or hand allotransplantation. This research aims to improve monitoring of vascular complications after transplantation using a special MRI technique developed to measure blood flow in small arteries of the hand. The study is led by the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire, Amiens, and focuses on comparing blood flow variations in different arterial trees under normal and pathological conditions. Participants will undergo MRI scans using a 3 Tesla Philips Research MRI device to capture detailed images of the radial, ulnar, and interdigital arterial trees. Additionally, a Doppler ultrasound procedure will be performed using traditional methods at the Vascular Medicine Department. The study includes groups of healthy volunteers, patients needing radial forearm flap reconstruction, and patients who have received hand allotransplantation. These procedures help evaluate vascular flow differences among these groups. During the study, participants will have their arterial blood flows measured on day 0, focusing on variations between healthy volunteers and patients. The research team will assess radial, ulnar, and interdigital artery flow patterns to understand vascular changes linked to transplantation or reconstruction. The study excludes individuals with MRI contraindications or specific arterial diseases except for those with hand transplants. Participation involves informed consent, and social security coverage is required. The trial aims to enhance vascular flow monitoring to better support transplant outcomes.
