Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients of any gender with partial edentulism of the maxilla needing horizontal ridge augmentation
- Age between 20 and 60 years
- Residual ridge width less than 4 mm
- Sufficient bone available in intra-oral donor sites (external oblique ridge)
- Free from systemic conditions and bone metabolism diseases that may affect healing
- Vertical bone level favorable for esthetics with normal inter-arch space
- At least one missing tooth in the anterior maxilla alveolar ridge
You will not qualify if you...
- Received irradiation in the head and neck area less than 1 year before implantation
- Poor oral hygiene and motivation
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Pregnant or nursing
- Substance abuse
- Psychiatric problems or unrealistic expectations
- Severe bruxism or clenching
- Immunosuppressed or immunocompromised
