Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Clinically diagnosed keloid
- Keloid is unresected either because surgery is contraindicated or the patient declined surgical removal
- Patients with keloid recurrence after previous surgery are eligible if the current keloid is unresectable or surgery is declined
- Age 18 years or older
- Provided study-specific informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Prior radiation therapy to the keloid area that would overlap with study treatment fields
- Females of childbearing age without a negative pregnancy test before radiation or unwilling to use contraception during treatment
- Keloids located where radiation therapy poses an unacceptable high risk of toxicity as determined by the radiation oncologist
- Uncontrolled illnesses such as symptomatic congestive heart failure, uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmia, or psychiatric conditions limiting study compliance
