Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Healthy volunteers or patients aged 65 and above
- Clinical Frailty Scale score of 3 to 4
- Able to walk independently without any walking aids
- Willing and able to consent and travel to the study site for measurements and interventions
- No regular exercise habits in the past 3 months (less than 150 minutes per week of moderate aerobic exercise and less than twice a week of strengthening exercises)
You will not qualify if you...
- Currently enrolled in any Day Rehab or community exercise program
- Contraindications to Whole Body Vibration Therapy (e.g., pregnancy, acute thrombosis, artificial joints in treated areas, recent fractures or surgery, fresh wounds)
- Diagnosis of dementia
- History of diabetes mellitus
- Body mass index 20 kg/m2 or lower
- Hospital admission within the last 3 months
- End-stage organ failure
- Poorly managed chronic diseases (e.g., uncontrolled hypertension)
- New York Heart Association class II or higher for heart failure patients
- MUST Score 1 or higher
- Secondary contraindications to WBVT such as acute musculoskeletal inflammation, tendonitis, hernias, disc problems, stone disease, rheumatoid arthritis, epilepsy
