Rapid Analysis of Infections by Spectrometry of Exhaled Breath
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 years or older at the start of the study
- Diagnosis of either de novo, refractory, or relapsed acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome receiving intensive chemotherapy
- Diagnosis of either de novo, refractory, or relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia or T-lymphoblastic lymphoma receiving intensive chemotherapy
- Diagnosis of aplastic anemia requiring antithymocyte globulin therapy
- Admission for autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, regardless of whether transplantation has occurred
- Admission with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation within the past year or planned during this admission
- Written informed consent obtained from the patient
You will not qualify if you...
- Hematological diseases other than those specified in the inclusion criteria
- Signs of active respiratory infection
- If previously enrolled, incomplete clearance of all signs of respiratory infection clinically, microbiologically, and radiologically
