Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Healthy adults
- Age 18 to 75 years (inclusive)
- Body mass index between 18.0 and 34.9 (inclusive)
- Veins easy to see in one or both arms to allow blood draws
- Willing to follow study procedures, including maintaining consistent diet and lifestyle, bland breakfasts on clinic visit days, avoiding exercise and supplements on visit mornings, avoiding coffee, tea, and soft drinks at least one hour before visits, and avoiding music, candy, gum, and computer/cell phone use during visits
You will not qualify if you...
- Previous major gastrointestinal surgery (minor surgeries like appendix or gall bladder removal allowed)
- Taking anti-inflammatory medications daily
- Experiencing intense stressful events or life changes
- Engaged in intensive athletic training such as marathon running
- Taking antipsychotic medications like clozapine, Risperdal, Abilify, Zyprexa, or Seroquel
- Having an unusual sleep routine (e.g., graveyard shift, irregular late nights)
- Unwilling to maintain constant supplement intake during the study
- Anxiety about blood draws
- Pregnant, nursing, or trying to become pregnant
- Known food allergies to ingredients in the test products or placebo
