Registry for Esophageal and Gastroesophageal Junction Cancer
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Newly diagnosed stage IV adenocarcinoma of the esophagus or gastroesophageal junction with oligometastatic disease at diagnosis
- Metastases limited to retroperitoneal lymph nodes, liver, lung, extra-abdominal lymph nodes, adrenal gland, unilateral or bilateral ovarian metastases (without peritoneal disease), or bone
- Five or fewer metastatic sites excluding the primary tumor and regional lymph nodes
- Three or fewer tumors within each affected organ
- Total of five or fewer metastases
- All metastatic sites must be suitable for complete local therapy after systemic treatment
- Age 18 years or older
You will not qualify if you...
- Metastases to the peritoneum, including positive peritoneal lavage
- Malignant pleural effusion
- Brain metastases or leptomeningeal disease
- Any metastatic site not approved by the principal investigators
- Any site of disease not suitable for definitive local therapy
- Unfit for best systemic therapy
- Metachronous oligometastatic disease
- Secondary primary cancer except basal cell carcinoma of the skin
- Pregnant, lactating, or intending to become pregnant
- Unwilling to provide informed consent
