Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults 18-59 years of age
- No specific exclusion criteria present
- Have a valid email address and phone number throughout the study
- Free from any implants that are not compatible with MRI
You will not qualify if you...
- Are pregnant or attempting to conceive
- Body mass index (BMI) greater than 35
- Significant memory impairment or hearing loss
- Sleep apnea
- Chronic pain or frequent use of pain medications, including tramadol
- Chronic medical conditions requiring treatment such as hypertension, diabetes, or high cholesterol
- Neurologic diseases including seizures and tremor
- Psychiatric diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, panic, or PTSD
- History of abnormal heartbeats, liver or kidney disease, or significant lung disease
- Severe claustrophobia or intolerance to MRI
- Have metal implants or non-removable metal piercings
- History of adverse reaction to benzodiazepine medications like midazolam or lorazepam
- Allergy to dextran
- Daily or heavy alcohol use or history of alcohol abuse
- Current daily smoking
- Regular or recent marijuana use, including medical marijuana
- Use of illicit or street drugs
- Regular use of antiepileptics, antidepressants, antipsychotics, antihistamines, anti-anxiety medications, stimulants, or sleep aids
