Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age between 18-80 years old
- Acute deep vein thrombosis with symptoms starting less than 14 days ago
- Thrombosis involving the iliac vein, common femoral vein, distal popliteal vein, and/or calf vein
- Signed informed consent by the patient
You will not qualify if you...
- Previous deep vein thrombosis on the same side of the lower limb
- Plasma creatinine level greater than 180 umol/L
- Contraindications to thrombolysis treatment
- Presence of inferior vena cava thrombosis
- Known allergy to heparin, low molecular weight heparin, or contrast agents
- Participation in another clinical trial within the past three months
- Pregnancy or lactation
- Other diseases causing study difficulties or life expectancy less than 2 years
- Autoimmune thrombopathy or thrombocytopenia with platelets less than 80 x 10^9/L
- Unable or unwilling to participate in the study
