Age: 40Years - 85Years
All Genders

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age 40-85 years
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 or less
  • Diagnosed with medial compartment knee osteoarthritis by a physician
  • Walking pain score of 4 or greater on the Visual Analog Scale (VAS)
  • Willing to wear the assigned knee brace at least 4 hours per day
  • Able to walk independently for at least 20 minutes without assistance
  • Using a stable pain medication regimen for at least 4 weeks
  • At least 3 months since last hyaluronic acid, platelet-rich plasma, or steroid injection
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Presence of lateral or patellofemoral osteoarthritis
  • Previous knee replacement surgery
  • Significant ligament injury or acute lower limb injury
  • Neurological conditions that affect walking
  • Severe psychiatric or neurological disorders affecting pain perception
  • Skin conditions or allergies that prevent use of a knee brace
  • Currently using another knee brace or assistive device
  • Recent use of opioids or corticosteroids within the last 4 weeks
  • Pregnancy
