What this Trial Is About
Neuropathic pain is particularly difficult to treat with classic first-line drugs. Neuromodulation techniques using repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) are useful alternative, but there is a need to improve their analgesic effect.Virtual reality mirror therapy has shown the capacity to alleviate pain and may be easily coupled with rTMS.The present project will investigate in individuals with neuropathic pain the effects of the rTMS coupled with virtual reality mirror therapy.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Clinical symptoms typical of neuropathic pain
- Neuropathic pain that does not respond to drug treatments
- Pain lasting at least 6 months with moderate to severe intensity (4 or higher on Visual Analog Scale)
- Stable pain treatment for at least 1 month
- Having the right to health benefits
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of ferromagnetic components or implanted microprocessors such as cochlear implants
- Drug-resistant or active epilepsy
- Having a pacemaker
- Pregnancy
- Ongoing depression or personality disorders
- Current opioid treatment
- Any contraindications to MRI scanning such as claustrophobia
