Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease or mild Alzheimer's dementia based on National Institute on Aging-Alzheimer's Association criteria
  • MMSE score between 18 and 28
  • Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) score between 0.5 and 1
  • On stable treatment with IAChE or memantine for at least 6 months
  • Literate in Han Chinese
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Received repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) treatment in the past 3 months
  • Current diagnosis of depression or other psychiatric disorders
  • History of head injury, stroke, epilepsy, or other neurological diseases
  • Presence of organic brain defects on T1 or T2 MRI images
  • History of unexplained loss of consciousness
  • Presence of implanted pacemaker, medication pump, vagal stimulator, deep brain stimulator, or any implanted medical device incompatible with MRI
  • Family history of medication refractory epilepsy
  • History of substance abuse within the last 6 months
