Researchers are studying children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 who have chronic conditions that increase their risk of cardiovascular diseases, such as congenital heart disease, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and rheumatic disorders. The study aims to screen for lipid metabolism disorders, including familial hyperlipidemia, to identify early signs of elevated lipid levels and cardiovascular risk factors in this vulnerable group. Early detection and treatment may help reduce long-term health problems like heart attack and stroke. Participants will undergo blood tests and complete questionnaires to collect information on lipid levels, clinical data, family history, and lifestyle factors. This screening project focuses on children already receiving care for chronic diseases at specialized pediatric clinics. The study will gather important data on the prevalence of hyperlipidemia and related risk factors like physical inactivity within this high-risk group. During the study, participants will have their lipid profiles analyzed, and researchers will assess correlations with various clinical and lifestyle factors. The primary outcome is the prevalence of elevated lipid levels and familial hyperlipidemias over 6 to 12 months. Secondary outcomes include detailed measurements of lipid fractions and correlations with body measurements, comorbidities, medications, age, sex, family history, and lifestyle.
