SCTSC Versus Trabeculectomy in Medically Uncontrolled Open-Angle Glaucoma in Pseudophakic Patients
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients above 40 years old
- Diagnosed with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) after uncomplicated cataract surgery with lens implantation
- Pseudophakic patients with glaucoma not controlled by two anti-glaucoma medications or intolerant to medical therapy
- Visual field defects in both superior and inferior fields outside the central 5 degrees of fixation
- Mean deviation on visual field test between -6 dB and -12 dB
You will not qualify if you...
- History of previous glaucoma surgery
- Use of topical steroids within the last three months
- Significant media opacity, such as corneal opacity, obstructing eye examination
- Ocular diseases like uveitis
- Severe ocular surface disorders such as ocular cicatricial pemphigoid
- Aphakic patients (without lens implantation)
- Any ocular interventions other than YAG posterior capsulotomy
