Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Pregnant individuals who provide written informed consent
- Diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus by a 75-g oral glucose tolerance test using specified Chinese Diabetes Society 2024 thresholds
- Or diagnosed with pre-gestational diabetes (type 1 or type 2) before pregnancy or meeting diabetes criteria at first prenatal visit
- Or at high risk for gestational diabetes defined by at least one of: prior gestational diabetes, prior macrosomic infant (≥4,000 g), pre-pregnancy BMI ≥24 kg/m², age ≥45 years, low HDL cholesterol (<1 mmol/L), high triglycerides (>2.8 mmol/L), first-degree family history of diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, history of coronary heart disease, chronic hypertension, or repeated positive fasting urinary glucose in early pregnancy
- Age 18 years or older at consent
- Willing and able to attend postpartum assessments including OGTT at 6 weeks, 12 months, and annually for at least 3 years
You will not qualify if you...
- Current or history of illicit drug use or substance abuse
- Presence of active infectious disease including viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, or tuberculosis
- Any condition judged by the investigator to make the subject unsuitable for enrollment
