Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Aged 60 to 90 years
- Diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease or mild Alzheimer's disease according to NIA-AA (2011) criteria
- Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD) total score of 10 or less
- No obvious signs on neurological examination
- Education level of primary school (grade 6) or above and able to complete cognitive tests
- Capacity to provide informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Cognitive decline caused by other conditions such as cerebrovascular disease, infections, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, traumatic brain injury, drug or alcohol effects, systemic diseases, brain tumors, endocrine diseases, vitamin deficiencies, or other dementia causes
- History of nervous system diseases including stroke, optic myelitis, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy
- Psychiatric illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, or delirium
- Unstable or serious diseases of heart, lung, liver, kidney, endocrine, or blood systems, or poor prognosis due to malignancies like tumors
- Vision or hearing problems affecting cognitive test performance
- History of severe alcoholism or drug abuse in the past two years
- Participation in another clinical trial within 30 days before screening
- Contraindications to MRI scanning
- Special dietary requirements due to allergies or medical needs
- Unable to be followed for at least 6 months due to health or relocation
