Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Both caregiver and care-recipient identify as African American
- Care-recipient has an early-stage memory impairment such as Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia
- Care-recipient lives at home
- Care-recipient is at least 50 years old
- Caregiver is 18 years or older
- Ability to speak and read English
- Signs and symptoms of mild to moderate dementia confirmed by caregiver report and clinical criteria
You will not qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of a mental health condition such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression
- History of traumatic brain injury
- Intellectual or developmental disability
- Experiencing extreme difficulty adjusting to the dementia diagnosis
- Living in an institutional setting
